Hi,
I have a MacBook Air (2012) running Mac OS X 10.8.5, 1.8GHz Intel Core i5, with 4GB ram.
I have a Cannon MP510, it shows up on the list of printers in the System Preferences.
I am connecting the printer/scanner to my MacBook Air using a USB cable.
However it does not show up when I open Image Capture.
I cant seem to scan anything.
Note that the scanner does work with my old windows 7 laptop, so it is just the Mac that doesnt want to work with it.
How can I input an image using the Cannon MP510 scanner mode to my Mac?
Regards,

Image Capture User Guide
After connecting a scanner to your Mac, use Image Capture to scan images. If your scanner has an automatic document feeder, you can scan several pages at once. If you have a flatbed scanner, you can scan multiple images, straighten any that were placed crooked on the scan bed, and save each image to its own file.
- Connect your scanner to your computer, then turn on your scanner.
- In the Image Capture app on your Mac, select your scanner in the Devices or Shared list.If you don’t see your scanner in the list, see Set up a scanner. How to install a minecraft mod mac.
- Scan your images. If you have a scanner with an automatic document feeder or flatbed scanner, see Scan images or documents. Buy clean my mac.
Tip: Some scanners indicate how an item is positioned on the scanner, so you can adjust it on the scanner before scanning. If you don’t see the Orientation buttons in the Scanner window, click Show Details.
